Taking influence from the spectrum of commercial pop/r&b music, our Choreography classes marry hip hop foundations with techniques from jazz, contemporary and classical styles. With a larger focus on choreography and performance over battling, Choreography dancers employ a highly emotional, smooth & controlled technique.

Hip Hop
Evolving from simple party moves that anyone can learn, hip hop is as free as you want it to be or as advanced as you want to make it. Combining grooves and techniques from other styles as well as taking influence from all kinds of music, hip hop is all about self expression. XO not only has classes but has a regular group of hip hop dancers who are always looking to jam and share outside of class as well!

Popping
Imagine letting music run through your body. It beats you like the percussion of a drum one second and then pushes like a wave the next. This is a dance that asks for awesome command of isolation and muscles to literally show the music in your body! XO boasts some of Sydney's top poppers practicing daily so come back and learn from international level competitors!

With fast complex footwork and a fluid upper body, house dancers often look like they're floating across the surface of the floor and the rhythm of the music. Improvisational and free, house combines the grace and precision of predecessors like tapping and stepping with the dynamic energy of hip hop and its special groove; the jack.

Locking
Developed from traditional funk music, locking is a dance that is all about 'the lock' which is a freeze frame after a fast movement. With a smile and manual hand twirls, locking is a funky dance that stands out in any crowd.
